Major Harris was a singer and guitarist born on February 9, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia. He was a member of the Delfonics from 1970 to 1975, contributing his vocals to the albums "Tell Me This is a Dream" and "Alive and Kicking." Prior to joining the Delfonics, Harris lent his voice to various doo-wop and R&B groups during the 1960s, including the Charmers, the Teenagers (known for their association with Frankie Lymon), the Jarmels, and Nat Turner’s Rebellion. In 1974, he left the Delfonics to pursue a solo career. Major Harris passed away on November 9, 2012, at the age of 65 due to congestive heart and lung failure.
