Mala Herba is a solo project by sound artist and queer music activist Zosia Hołubowska. Drawing inspiration from the traditional music, magic, and demonology of Eastern Europe, Mala Herba delves into themes of queerness and sex-positivity. The project features powerful, witchy vocals intertwined with hypnotic beats, cold bass lines, and romantic synthesizer melodies. While the music carries a gothic and dramatic essence, it also compels listeners to dance. Occasionally, melodies may crack, transforming the voice into a magical spell and the song into a noise soundscape, only to return with an arpeggio that resonates with italo-disco-inspired bass and rhythm.
