Mala Rodríguez, born María Rodríguez Garrido on February 13, 1979, in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, is a celebrated Spanish hip hop rapper and a Latin Grammy Award winner. She made history as the first woman to win a Latin Grammy for “Best Urban Song” and “Best Urban Album,” establishing herself as a leading figure in the urban genre. Known for her flamenco-like voice and bold poetry, Mala Rodríguez has carved a niche in a predominantly male industry. In 2018, she signed a record and co-management contract with Universal Music Latin Entertainment and is managed by Industria Works and Global Talent Services US Latin. Her music has been featured in films like “The Fast & The Furious” and in various video games. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned international artists, including Nelly Furtado, Tego Calderón, Calle 13, Romeo Santos, Ibeyi, Juan Magán, and Beatriz Luengo, among others.
