Malcolm Yelvington was an American country, hillbilly, and rockabilly singer and acoustic guitar player, born on September 14, 1918, in Covington, Tennessee. He passed away on February 21, 2001, at the age of 82 in Memphis, Tennessee. Yelvington experienced a significant revival and gained fame in Europe from 1988 to 1992, thanks to the re-release of his Sun Records songs on various compilations. At the age of 79, he released his first album in 1997. In December 2000, he became paralyzed due to a tumor affecting his spinal cord, and two months later, he was hospitalized with pneumonia, which led to heart failure.
