Mamie Galore was a soul and blues singer born in Mississippi in 1940. Throughout her lengthy career, she performed with notable acts such as Herman Scott and the Swinging Kings, the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, and Little Milton’s band. Her time with Little Milton led her to move to Chicago, where she signed with a record label in 1965. Mamie returned to her roots as a blues singer before her passing in 2001 in Mississippi.
