Manoella Torres is an American singer and actress of Puerto Rican ancestry, born on April 21, 1955, in New York City, USA. She is based in Mexico City, Mexico, and is often referred to as "The Woman Who Was Born To Sing." At a young age, she emigrated to Mexico with her grandmother. She released her first album at the age of 12 under the stage name Gloria Gil, sponsored by the group Los Panchos. In 1969, she released her second album, but it was in 1972 that she gained fame with her third album, adopting the stage name Manoella Torres. Throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, she continued to release albums, establishing herself as a prominent ballad singer. In addition to her music career, she also acted in film and television. Today, she is recognized as a significant figure in Mexican music, leaving a lasting legacy in the history of Mexican music.
