Manuel Göttsching was a German musician born on September 9, 1952, in Berlin, and he passed away on December 4, 2022, in the same city. He was highly influential in the music scene, particularly known for his album E2-E4, recorded in 1981 and released in 1984, as well as for his work as a Krautrock guitarist. Göttsching began his musical career at a young age, performing with various pop and blues bands in Berlin during the late 1960s. He became a key figure in the bands Ash Ra Tempel and other Kosmische Kuriere projects, collaborating with several notable artists. In 1976, he recorded his first album as the sole member of the band, titled New Age Of Earth, and repeated this approach in 1978 for live performances, incorporating other band members. During this period, he also began composing music for fashion shows. In the 1980s, Ash Ra Tempel evolved back into a full band, while Göttsching pursued solo projects and produced music for himself and other artists.
