Manuel Göttsching was a German musician born on September 9, 1952, in Berlin, and he passed away on December 4, 2022, in the same city. He was a hugely influential figure in music, particularly known for his album E2-E4, which was recorded in 1981 and released in 1984. Göttsching began his music career at a young age, playing with various Berlin pop and blues bands in the late 1960s. He became a mainstay of Ash Ra Tempel and other Kosmische Kuriere projects, collaborating with several artists throughout his career. In 1976, he recorded his first album as the sole member of the band, titled New Age Of Earth. He repeated this approach in 1978 for live performances, incorporating other band members during that time. Göttsching also started creating music for fashion shows in this period. In the 1980s, Ash Ra Tempel evolved into a full band again, while Göttsching began recording solo works and producing music for himself and other artists.
