Manzanita was a Spanish rumba and flamenco singer, composer, and guitarist born in Madrid in 1956. He was the son of cantaor and bailaor García and bailaora Trinidad Heredia Jiménez. At the age of nine, he began playing guitar at various tablaos in Madrid, including Café de Chinitas and Los Canasteros, quickly becoming a sought-after guitar player. By the age of 11, he joined cantaor Enrique Morente on his world tour. In 1974, he formed the group 'Los Chorbos' with Alfonso Veneno, Miguel, and Amador Losada, contributing to the 'Caño Roto sound' that infused flamenco with rumba. He launched his solo career in 1977, releasing his first album, ‘Poco Ruido Y Mucho Duende,’ in 1978, which was a significant success. His subsequent albums included ‘Caja De Música,’ ‘Sueño De Amor,’ and ‘Espíritu Sin Nombre.’ After moving to Catalonia, his career experienced a slowdown, although he was still recognized by rumberos and cantaors.
