Marc Namblard was born in Paris in October 1973 and grew up in Loiret, Central France. He spent many holidays in the Cévennes, where his sensitivity to nature developed. After completing his baccalaureate in literature, visual arts, and art history, he attended l’École de l’Image d’Épinal, a visual arts school. During his 21-month non-military national service at an outdoor education centre, he discovered his passion for environmental education. Following this, he graduated from the Fine Art School of Épinal with a National diploma in visual arts in June 2000. Marc transitioned from fine arts to working as an environmental educator for popular education organisations, where he connected with individuals interested in sound art and wildlife recording. His work reflects a dual approach that is both naturalist and musical, balancing rationality and intuition. Since 2000, he has lived and worked in Lorraine, Eastern France, as a nature guide, wildlife sound recordist, and sound artist. His decision to become self-employed stemmed from a desire to avoid routine, embrace diverse projects, and foster new partnerships while continually enhancing his practices in wildlife, art, and education.
