Marcel Neville King (January 4, 1958 - October 5, 1995) was the youngest member of the soul/funk/disco group Sweet Sensation, formed in Manchester in 1971. The group, originally named Sensation, gained fame after winning the New Faces talent competition, and their second single, "Sad Sweet Dreamer," reached the top of the UK charts in September 1974. However, Sweet Sensation disbanded shortly after failing to qualify for the British finals of the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1984, King collaborated with Donald Johnson of A Certain Ratio and Bernard Sumner of New Order to release the single "Reach For Love" / "Keep On Dancing" (FAC 92) under Factory Records. While "Reach For Love" became a popular track in The Hacienda, it did not achieve commercial success. Marcel King passed away in 1995 due to a brain hemorrhage.
