Marechal Papillon, also known as Din Din Ferdinand, is a prominent promoter of Sakissa, a unique style of Makossa distinguished by its danceable up-tempo rhythm and Congolese guitar lines. He began his musical journey in the mid-1980s and gained recognition a few years later when he was discovered by Guy Lobe, a prominent figure in the music scene at the time. Lobe played a significant role in arranging Papillon's debut LP, "Femme sans ambition," which quickly became a hit in Cameroon.
