Margaret Singana was a renowned South African singer, affectionately known as 'Lady Africa'. She was born in 1938 and achieved her greatest success during the 1970s. After suffering a debilitating stroke in 1978, she made a remarkable comeback. In 1986, she returned to the spotlight with the song 'We Are Growing', the theme for the television series 'Shaka Zulu', which reached number 1 in The Netherlands in 1989. Despite her achievements, Margaret Singana passed away on April 22, 2000, at the age of 62, largely forgotten and in a financial situation unbefitting her status as a star.
