Margarita, known as Anita Mahfood, was a renowned dancer, actress, and singer from Jamaica. Born in an unspecified year, she gained fame as "the famous Rhumba queen" and was a prominent performer in her time. Mahfood was also a pioneer in reggae music, being one of the first women in Jamaica to write and sing her own songs. Tragically, she was murdered on January 1, 1965, by her boyfriend Don Drummond, a member of the Skatalites.
