Maria Dolores Pradera was a renowned Spanish melodic singer and actress, born on August 29, 1924, in Madrid, Spain. She began her acting career in 1943 and made her music debut at the Madrid venue Sala Alazán in 1952. Pradera was married in 1945 and enjoyed a singing career that spanned over 55 years. She became one of the most prestigious voices in Spain and Latin America, earning the titles "La Gran Señora de la Canción" and "La Pradera." Most of her recordings were done with a guitar duo. In 1952, she recorded several songs including "No me quieras tanto," "Yo no me quiero enterar," "Doña Mariquita de los Dolores," and "La de la Puerta Triana," all composed by Quintero, León y Quiroga for the 1958 movie "Patio Andaluz," in which actress Ana Mariscal did the playback. Maria Dolores Pradera passed away on May 28, 2018, in Madrid, Spain, at the age of 93.
