María Jiménez was a renowned Spanish Flamenco singer born in Sevilla on February 3, 1950. She passed away on September 7, 2023, in Madrid. At the age of 15, she moved to Barcelona to work as a housemaid and began performing under the name "Maria La Pippa" in tablaos, first in Barcelona and later in Madrid. In 1976, she recorded her first album with arrangements by Paco Cepero. Her career saw a resurgence in 2002 when she collaborated on the song "La lista de la compra" with the group La cabra mecánica and released the album "Donde más duele," featuring songs by Joaquín Sabina.
