Maria Valentina Chirico is a talented singer with a diverse background in baroque, classical, and contemporary music. She holds a degree in vocal chamber music and has studied in Berlin and Turin. Throughout her career, she has performed in various theatres and festivals, enriching her repertoire with sacred and contemporary music. Valentina founded Tubipora Musica, a duo that focuses on original music, improvisation, and a blend of ancient and modern repertoire featuring harp, vocals, harmonium, and electronics. Her passion for the harmonium began in childhood, leading her to collect 'forgotten' harmoniums from churches and older musicians. In 2018, she received a handmade, portable harmonium from Klaus Langer Harmoniumwerkstatt on the night of St Nicholas. Currently, Valentina is composing music for theatre and cinema, with a particular focus on fairy tales and songs inspired by animals, children, plants, and dreams.
