Mario Ortiz was a prominent Puerto Rican trumpet player, born on August 5, 1935, in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. He was known for his work as a bandleader and arranger, collaborating with various combos and musicians throughout his career. Ortiz passed away on November 4, 1999, in Puerto Rico. He was also the father of another trumpet player.
