Mark-Almond was an English jazz/rock group active from 1970 until 1978. The members met while recording together in 1969 and formed the band in 1970. The original lineup included Jon Mark and Johnny Almond, with a drummer added in time for their second album in 1971. The band expanded to seven members during 1972-73, experiencing various personnel changes before disbanding. Jon Mark and Johnny Almond reformed Mark-Almond as a duo in 1975, recording four more albums until their final breakup in 1978. Johnny Almond passed away on November 18, 2009, from cancer at the age of 63.
