Mark-Anthony Turnage CBE is a British composer born on June 10, 1960, in Corringham, Essex, England. He has created numerous orchestral and chamber works, as well as three full-length operas. In Autumn 2005, he was appointed the Royal College of Music's "Research Fellow in Composition." In 2015, he was honored with the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to music.
