His first official album was released in 1996 as part of a group, followed by two solo albums in 1997 for a New Zealand label. Afterward, he moved to Japan, attended Boston's Berklee College of Music, and spent several years in London during the late 1990s to 2000s, where he worked on various projects, including club nights, running a label, remix work, and releasing his own music across multiple labels.
