Mark Deutrom is a talented guitarist, composer, songwriter, and producer. He studied composition at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA, where he attended seminars with notable composers such as John Cage, Lou Harrison, Morton Feldman, Aaron Copland, and Morton Subotnick. In 1986, Deutrom co-founded a label in San Francisco, CA, where he produced a record for his own band, as well as for Sacrilege, Melvins, RKL, and Neurosis. In 1993, he was invited to join the Melvins as a bassist, remaining with the band until 1998. During this time, he contributed to albums like "Prick," "Stoner Witch," "Stag," and "Honky," and toured with renowned acts such as Tool, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Kiss, and Rush. In 2006, Deutrom collaborated with SunnO))) on various live performances in the USA and Europe. He has released several solo projects and continues to produce work for other artists. In July 2017, he signed an agreement with the French label Season of Mist to reissue his back catalog and release new material. He is married.
