Mark Lanegan (November 25, 1964 – February 22, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter, author, and musician from Ellensburg, Washington. He began his musical career in 1984 as the frontman of the psychedelic grunge band Screaming Trees. Following the band's disbandment, Lanegan became a frequent collaborator with various artists throughout his career. He worked with notable musicians and contributed to numerous projects, solidifying his reputation in the music industry.
