Mark Ryder is a DJ and producer from Romford. Before entering the music industry, he worked as a computer programmer and later at Our Price. He gained recognition as a DJ, successfully competing in the DMC Mixing championships alongside notable artists such as DJ Hype. After meeting Dave Lee in a record shop, Ryder began producing house tracks under various names, including Raven Maze, Masters Of The Universe, and Shy Boys. He established Strictly Underground Records and has been significantly involved with pirate radio stations Unity FM and Konflict FM. Additionally, his brother is a producer in the hardcore, DnB, and Breaks genres.
