Martha Veléz is a classically trained American singer of Puerto Rican heritage, born in New York City on August 25, 1945. She is the older sister of a percussionist who played for Jimi Hendrix at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and is the former wife of a trumpet player. Later in her career, she shifted her focus to acting and appeared in television series such as Falcon Crest and L.A. Law.
