Martinha, born Martha Vieira Figueiredo Cunha on July 30, 1949, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter currently residing in São Paulo. Known by the nickname "Queijinho de Minas," she gained prominence in the Jovem Guarda movement through her participation in musical programs and interviews on major television networks. Her notable hit, "Eu Daria A Minha Vida" (I Would Give My Life), was recorded in 1968 and later covered by Roberto Carlos and others. Since beginning her career in 1966, Martinha has released 23 LPs and sold 3 million copies, achieving significant success in Latin America with songs like "Hoy Daria Yo La Vida," "Llueve," "Aquí," "Agua Caliente," "Que Homem É Esse," and "Secretos." Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards in Brazil and internationally, and as a composer, she has found success with both Jovem Guarda and sertanejo artists.
