Mary Halvorson is a guitarist, composer, and improviser based in Brooklyn. Originally from Boston, she studied jazz at Wesleyan University and the New School. Since 2000, she has been actively performing in New York with various groups and has toured both Europe and the U.S. with notable musicians such as Anthony Braxton and Trevor Dunn’s Trio-Convulsant. In 2008, she released her debut album as a leader, "Dragon's Head," with The Mary Halvorson Trio.
