Mary McCaslin (December 22, 1946 – October 2, 2022) was an American folk singer born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was known for her contemporary folk music, having recorded primarily for Philo Records. Throughout her career, she traveled and performed with her ex-husband. McCaslin is recognized as a vital link between traditional folksingers and modern "new folk" singer-songwriters. Her music encompasses a range of themes, from ballads of the old west to her own contemporary compositions. A pioneer of open guitar tunings, she was also noted for her distinctive vocal style, influencing many younger folk performers.
