Masami Tsuchiya is a Japanese guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer born on August 22, 1952, in Fuji City, Shizuoka. He is best known for forming the band Ippu-Do in 1978, which led to his appearances with the band Japan, session work for Arcadia (a Duran Duran offshoot), and his eventual solo career. Tsuchiya also acted in the film "Saya No Toushizu" in 1986. His musical journey began at the age of 15 when he briefly joined The Golden Cups after running away from home, working as a roadie for the group until he was found by his father and returned home. After returning to Tokyo as a university student at 18 in 1970, he was quickly recruited by Nobu Saito as a guitarist, which opened doors for session and performance work with artists like Lily, Junko Ohashi, and Show Yamamoto.
