Mashmakhan is a rock fusion band based in Canada, best known for their single "As The Years Go By." They were first signed in 1970 and took their name from a type of hemp, as suggested by a local peddler. The original lineup consisted of Brian Edwards (bass, vocals), Jerry Mercer (drums), Rayburn Blake (lead guitar), and Pierre Senecal (flute, piano, organ, arranger). The band also gained recognition for touring on the Festival Express, which was later made into a documentary featuring their performances.
