Massacre is a US death metal band from Brandon, Florida, originally formed in 1984 under the name Mantis. The early lineup included members who co-wrote and created material for their debut album, "From Beyond." The band gained recognition with their contributions to the compilation "Tyrants of Death," which features classic demos and live recordings from 1985 to 1987. Following several lineup changes and disbandments, the band members Rozz, Andrews, and Butler joined Death in 1987 but reunited in 1991 to release "From Beyond." They followed up with an EP a year later before disbanding again. In 1993, Rozz reformed Massacre, leading to the release of "Promise" in 1996, after which Kam Lee left the band. In 2006, Kam Lee, Terry Butler, and others temporarily reunited as Massacre. By 2008, the lineup changed again, but the band split up later that year. Butler and Rozz reformed Massacre in late 2011, bringing in Mike Mazzonetto on drums and Ed Webb on vocals. They announced a 7" release in March 2012 and performed at the Wacken Festival in August 2012, followed by the album "Back From The Dead" in 2014.
