Massappeal was a hardcore and punk band based in Sydney, Australia, active from 1985 to 1994. The band was formed by core members Brett Curotta (guitar) and Randy Reimann (vocals), accompanied by various rotating rhythm sections. Massappeal developed an intense sound that drew inspiration from the early eighties hardcore scene, influenced by bands like Black Flag and Bad Brains, while also incorporating elements of early seventies progressive and heavy rock, reminiscent of Black Sabbath and King Crimson, as well as the desert sludge style of acts like Kyuss and Sleep.
