Frank Maston is a multi-instrumentalist from the suburbs of Los Angeles, where he was influenced by the sunny atmosphere and rich musical history of the area. He developed a passion for the chamber pop sounds of Van Dyke Parks and Brian Wilson, as well as the rock magic of Harry Nilsson and Phil Spector. These influences shaped his unique style, which blends dark pop sounds with elements from '60s and '70s studio legends. Maston began his music career in 2011, releasing a series of cassette albums under his last name. In 2012, he signed with Chicago's Trouble in Mind label, which released his debut full-length album, "Shadows," in 2013. He also played keyboards for Jacco Gardner, joining him for extensive tours in the Netherlands. His experiences abroad inspired his second album, "Tulips," released in 2017 on his own Phonoscope label, which drew from French and Italian film music, shifting his influences towards composers like Morricone and Legrand.
