Matt Bianco is a jazz-pop band formed in 1983 by ex-members of a modern jazz ensemble. They quickly rose to prominence in England, earning a European music award for Best Single of 1985 with their rendition of "Yeh Yeh." Their single "Wap Bam Boogie" became the number one European club track of 1988. Despite experiencing numerous personnel changes, the band initially featured keyboard player, bassist, and vocalists, but disbanded shortly after releasing their debut album in 1984. The group was later reformed with vocalist Mark Reilly and keyboard player, leading to the release of their self-titled album in 1986. In 2001, they released "Rico," which showcased a blend of acid jazz and traditional Cuban rhythms, partly recorded in the same location where other notable artists had recorded. The album included "Cha Cha Cuba," which achieved chart success in Japan.
