Matthew Jamal is a New York–based bassist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist known for his deeply textural approach to sound and improvisation. Blending elements of jazz, classical, and experimental music, he explores rhythm, space, and storytelling through the upright bass. A graduate of The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Jamal has collaborated with numerous forward-thinking artists and performed across diverse creative settings, earning recognition for his emotive performances and innovative compositions that challenge the boundaries of genre and form.
