Mauthausen Orchestra was an influential Italian power-electronics project founded by Pierpaolo Zoppo in 1982. The project delved into morbid themes, focusing on extreme sex, perversion, torture, and disease, characterized by a brutal mix of noise, electronic distortions, and inhuman vocals. Mauthausen Orchestra ceased operations in 1986, with some recordings from 1988 released a decade later by Xn Recordings. In 1997, Zoppo revived the project, producing new material and overseeing the reissue of early cassettes through Slaughter Productions. Pierpaolo Zoppo was born on April 27, 1963, and passed away on June 16, 2012.
