Maxine Brown is a soul singer born on August 18, 1939, in Kingstree, South Carolina, USA. Her peak years were in the mid-1960s, during which she released two duet albums. Notably, she had songs written for her before she and her collaborators were signed. In the late 1950s, she performed with gospel groups The Manhattans and The Royaltones. Additionally, she starred in the Broadway musical "Wild Women Don't Have The Blues." Maxine Brown is also a Northern Soul Hall of Fame Inductee.
