Maxwell Davis was a renowned US tenor saxophonist, arranger, and bandleader, celebrated for his contributions to the independent West Coast R&B label Aladdin Records and its affiliated labels. He was born on January 14, 1916, in Independence, Kansas, and passed away on September 18, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. Davis is also known for his collaborations with his wife on various projects.
