Maxx is a German Eurodance project that gained international success in the mid-'90s, known for hit singles such as "Get-A-Way," "No More (I Can’t Stand It)," and "You Can Get It." Formed in Berlin in 1993 by music executive David Brunner and a music producer, Maxx quickly became a commercial success in Europe. The debut single "Get-A-Way," featuring rapper Gary B. and singer Besic, was released in October 1993. Although Besic did not continue with the project, dancer-model Alice Montana lip-synced her vocals in the music video, leading to a misrepresentation of who performed the song. "Get-A-Way" quickly climbed to the Top 10 in Germany and reached the Top 5 in the UK, Austria, Sweden, and the Netherlands, eventually achieving Gold certification in Germany and Silver in the UK, with total sales of 1.1 million copies in Europe by mid-1994. Following the success of their debut, Maxx released a second single, "No More (I Can’t Stand It)," with British singer-songwriter Meek, who replaced Besic. This single also became a Top-10 hit, and Meek and rapper Bokoe toured extensively across Western Europe and Canada, performing on popular music TV shows. Maxx's debut album, "To The Maxximum," was released in June 1994 and reached No. 10 in Sweden.
