Mayan Ruins is a Cincinnati-based band that debuted on September 24, 2006, originally as a trio. The group quickly evolved into its current form, creating a unique sound that blends Native American, Middle Eastern, African, and Asian rhythms with shamanic and Tibetan chants, electric guitars, bass, violin, winds, and a variety of percussion instruments. This fusion results in what they describe as "Psychedelic Tribal Music." Dance plays a vital role in their performances, and they have had the privilege of collaborating with notable guest dancers and troupes, including Zahara, Dante's Gypsy Circus, and Anaya Gypsy Dance.
