Mayo Shouno is a Japanese female singer-songwriter born on December 23, 1954, in Ōsaka. She made her debut with the album "Atelier" in 1976, followed by her second album "Luna Park," which was supported by the band 'Sadistics.' Her third album, "Pastel," released in 1977, marked the early days of Japanese "City Pop." Shouno's fourth album, "Refrain," featured notable tracks such as 'Tonde Istanbul' and 'Monte Carlo de Kanpai.' Her fifth album, "Masquerade," was recorded in Los Angeles with members of the band 'Little Feet.' Her seventh album, "Ai-Ai-Ai," was recorded in collaboration with 'Oingo Boingo.' In 2021, she released a new album titled "66," collaborating with Koki Ito from Tatsuro Yamashita's band, Ryomei Shirai from Moonriders, Masahiro Miyazaki from Masayoshi Takanaka's band, Masamichi Sugi, Hiromi Ota, and Keiko Maruyama, among others.
