Formed in 1970 by former Manfred Mann members Tom McGuinness and Hughie Flint, McGuinness Flint quickly made their mark on the British rock and folk scene with their warm, roots-inspired sound. Blending blues, country, and rock influences, the band was known for heartfelt songwriting and strong musicianship. Their debut album produced the U.K. hits “When I’m Dead and Gone” and “Malt and Barley Blues,” earning them critical acclaim and commercial success. Though short-lived, McGuinness Flint’s work remains a cherished piece of early ’70s British folk rock history.
