Mduduzi, known as M'Du, is a South African keyboardist, bassist, composer, and performer born on April 25, 1970, in the township of Zola in Soweto, South Africa. His career began as a producer for bubblegum artists alongside producer Mandla "Mofokeng." In 1989, he collaborated with Spikiri on the album "Where Were You?" under Cool Spot Productions, followed by "Be Free My People" the next year. Mduduzi gained notoriety in South Africa's house music scene with his 1990 project "L.A. Beat." As the kwaito genre emerged, he adopted the artist name "M'Du" and earned the nickname "The Godfather Of Kwaito" for his significant contributions to the genre. He later established his own label, "M'Du Records," under Sony's South African subsidiary, where he produced and developed various artists. Alongside his solo career, he worked on several side projects, including the LM Jam (Let M'Du Jam) kwaito jazz projects.
