Me First and the Gimme Gimmes is a punk rock supergroup formed in 1995, known for exclusively performing cover songs. The band reinterprets popular songs in a punk rock style and often incorporates musical interpretations of existing punk songs. Each album features a different musical theme. Most of their work has been released through Fat Wreck Chords, though they have also put out some singles and EPs on other independent labels. The founding members include bassist "Fat Mike" Burkett, guitarists Joey Cape and Chris Shiflett (who used the alias "Jake Jackson"), drummer Dave Raun, and singer Spike Slawson. Due to the members' other commitments, various fill-in musicians have joined the group on tour, including Schiflett's brother and others. Since 2014, Burkett has rarely performed live with the band, and other musicians have frequently taken over bass duties. In 2019, Chris Shiflett announced that he was no longer involved with the group.
