Meat Loaf, born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, was an American musician and actor renowned for his "Bat Out of Hell" album trilogy, which includes "Bat Out of Hell," "Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell," and "Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose." The first album has sold over 43 million copies worldwide and continues to sell approximately 200,000 copies annually, remaining on the charts for over nine years, solidifying its status as one of the best-selling albums of all time. Despite achieving significant success with "Bat Out of Hell" and its sequel, which earned him a Grammy Award for 'Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance' for the song "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)," Meat Loaf faced challenges establishing a steady career in the United States. Nevertheless, he maintained iconic status and popularity in Europe, particularly in the UK, where he ranked 23rd for the number of weeks spent on the charts as of 2006.
