The Meat Puppets are an American rock band formed in January 1980 in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The classic lineup consists of Curt (guitar/vocals), his brother (bass guitar), and (drums). They gained recognition as one of the notable groups on the roster of (who released most of their early albums). While they can be broadly classified as punk rock, the Meat Puppets, like many of their SST peers, developed a unique style that blends punk with country and psychedelic rock, highlighted by Curt's distinctive warbling vocals.
