**Megadeth Bio** Megadeth is a thrash metal band formed in 1983 in Los Angeles, California, by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine and bass guitarist Dave Ellefson. As part of the "Big 4 of Metal" alongside Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer, Megadeth played a significant role in popularizing thrash metal during the 1980s and is regarded as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The band's debut album was released in 1985, two years after Mustaine's departure from Metallica. Although it did not achieve commercial success, it established Mustaine as a formidable force in the music industry.
