Melvin "Wah Wah" Watson was an American soul and funk guitarist, songwriter, and producer born on December 8, 1950, in Richmond, VA. He passed away on October 24, 2018, in Santa Monica, CA, at the age of 67. Watson was a prominent session musician, collaborating with various artists throughout his career. In 1968, he joined the house band and later contributed to one of the most iconic singles of his time.
