Memo Salamanca was a Mexican conductor, arranger, composer, and pianist, born on August 12, 1924, in Tlacotalpan, Mexico. He was active in the music scene from the 1950s through the 2000s and played a significant role in promoting Cuban musical traditions in Mexico during the post-World War II period. Memo Salamanca passed away on August 2, 2008, in Veracruz, Mexico.
