Mental Abstrato is a contemporary music project formed by musicians and producers Omig-One, Calmão Tranquis, and Guimas Santos. The group seamlessly blends contemporary jazz and hip hop with the rarities of Brazilian music. They released their debut album, "Pure Essence," in 2010 in Japan, which garnered significant international recognition. Some tracks from this album were distributed by major labels, including BBE Records, Far Out Records, IRMA Records, and Paris Djs. In 2014, their song "Baião," in collaboration with DJ Thira, reached the top 10 of BBC Radio London, recognized by esteemed music producer and researcher Gilles Peterson. Their second album, "UZOMA," was recorded at Red Bull Music Studios in São Paulo and represents an urban and Afro-jazz soundtrack reflecting contemporary Brazilian music. Following a mini-tour in Cuba and Havana, Mental Abstrato has gained prominence, performing at various music festivals in Brazil and internationally. They have shared the stage with notable artists such as Elza Soares, João Donato, Azymuth, Duofel, Bocato, and American musicians Robert Glasper and Joey Bada$$, as well as Italian group Nu Guinea. Their performances have featured guest artists like legendary singer Claudya, Bocato, Tassia Reis, Rincon Sapiênça, Karol Conka, Rico Dalasam, Di Melo, Karla da Silva, Rashid, Xênia França, and Izzy Gordon
